Why this exists

Pipelyn coordinates real work between real people — property owners, managers, technicians, tenants, and vendors. This Acceptable Use Policy exists to keep the platform safe, lawful, and trusted for everyone who relies on it.

This policy is part of the Pipelyn Terms & Conditions. When you access or use the Services, you agree to follow these rules. Violating this policy may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination.

01

Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every person and entity that accesses or uses the Pipelyn Services, including all features, APIs, integrations, mobile applications, marketplace listings, and communications sent through the platform. It applies regardless of whether you are a paying subscriber, a free-tier user, an invited team member, a marketplace service provider, or a guest accessing shared content.

“Services” has the meaning given in our Terms & Conditions and includes any software, tools, content, or functionality made available by Pipelyn, Inc.

02

Prohibited conduct

You may not use the Services to do, facilitate, or attempt any of the following:

  • Violate any law or regulation. Use the platform in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law, including but not limited to housing regulations, labor laws, consumer protection statutes, and data-privacy requirements.
  • Engage in fraud or deception. Submit false information, create fraudulent work orders, manipulate invoices, misrepresent qualifications or licensing, or deceive other users or Pipelyn for financial or personal gain.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others. Use the platform to harass, bully, intimidate, stalk, or threaten any person, including other users, tenants, technicians, vendors, or Pipelyn staff. This includes discriminatory conduct based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Distribute malware or harmful code. Upload, transmit, or distribute viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any other malicious software or code designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems, devices, or data.
  • Gain unauthorized access.Access or attempt to access accounts, systems, or data that you are not authorized to use, including other users’ accounts, Pipelyn internal systems, or connected third-party services beyond the scope of your permissions.
  • Scrape, crawl, or data-mine. Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or crawlers to extract data from the Services without express written permission from Pipelyn. This includes scraping user profiles, property data, marketplace listings, or pricing information.
  • Impersonate others.Misrepresent your identity, pretend to be another person or entity, or falsely claim an affiliation with a person, company, or organization. This includes creating accounts under false names or using another user’s credentials.
03

Messaging & anti-spam

When you use Pipelyn’s messaging features — including SMS notifications via Twilio, in-app messages, and email communications sent through the platform — you must follow these rules:

  • Obtain proper consent. Before adding a phone number or email address that belongs to another person, you must have that person’s prior consent to receive communications through Pipelyn. This is both a legal requirement and a condition of using the Services.
  • Honor opt-outs immediately. When a recipient opts out of messages — whether by replying STOP, unsubscribing via a link, or requesting removal through any other channel — you must respect that request immediately and not re-add them without fresh consent.
  • Do not send spam. Do not use the platform to send unsolicited bulk messages, promotional content to people who have not opted in, or repetitive messages designed to annoy, overwhelm, or pressure recipients.
  • Use accurate sender information. All messages sent through the platform must accurately identify the sender. Do not disguise the origin of messages, use misleading subject lines, or misrepresent who is sending the communication.
You are responsible for consent

When you add another person’s contact information to the platform — whether a tenant’s phone number, a vendor’s email, or a building contact’s details — you represent and warrant that you have obtained that person’s prior consent to receive automated communications from Pipelyn on your behalf. Pipelyn relies on this representation. If a dispute arises, you are responsible for demonstrating that valid consent was obtained.

04

Content standards

You are responsible for all content you create, upload, share, or transmit through the Services, including but not limited to work-order descriptions, photos, documents, comments, reviews, marketplace listings, and messages (“Content”). Your Content must not:

  • Be unlawful, fraudulent, or violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Infringe on the intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
  • Contain defamatory, libelous, or knowingly false statements about any person or entity.
  • Include obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit material unrelated to legitimate property management purposes.
  • Promote violence, hatred, or discrimination against any individual or group.
  • Contain personal information of another person disclosed without their consent, such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or government-issued ID numbers.

Pipelyn does not proactively monitor all Content but reserves the right to review, remove, or disable access to any Content that violates this policy, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

05

Security & integrity

You must not compromise the security, availability, or integrity of the Services. Specifically:

  • No probing or vulnerability testing. Do not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services, or attempt to breach any security or authentication measures, unless you are doing so as part of a coordinated responsible-disclosure effort with our explicit permission.
  • No circumventing access controls. Do not bypass, disable, or interfere with any security-related features of the Services, including authentication, authorization, encryption, rate limiting, or access controls.
  • No overloading or disrupting infrastructure. Do not intentionally overload, flood, or otherwise disrupt the servers, networks, or infrastructure supporting the Services. This includes denial-of-service attacks, excessive API calls designed to degrade performance, and any activity intended to impair availability.
  • Keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, API keys, and access tokens. Do not share credentials with unauthorized individuals, store them in insecure locations, or embed them in client-side code.

Responsible security research is welcome. If you discover a potential vulnerability, please report it to legal@pipelyn.com with a detailed description. We will acknowledge your report and work with you to understand and address the issue. We ask that you give us reasonable time to respond before making any findings public.

06

Marketplace conduct

If you participate in the Pipelyn marketplace — whether as a property manager seeking service providers, a vendor listing your services, or a technician accepting jobs — you must adhere to the following standards:

  • Provide accurate information. All marketplace listings, profiles, service descriptions, pricing, availability, and qualifications must be truthful, current, and not misleading. Do not exaggerate capabilities, misstate experience, or post outdated information.
  • Maintain proper licensing and insurance. Service providers must hold all licenses, permits, certifications, and insurance coverage required by applicable law for the services they offer. You must promptly update your profile if any credential expires, is revoked, or changes.
  • No off-platform solicitation.Do not use contact information obtained through the Pipelyn marketplace to solicit users outside the platform for the purpose of circumventing Pipelyn’s fees, terms, or protections. Relationships initiated through Pipelyn should be conducted through the platform.
  • No fake reviews or ratings manipulation. Do not create, solicit, or incentivize fake reviews or ratings. Do not review your own services under a different account, pay others to leave positive reviews, or post negative reviews of competitors to manipulate rankings.
07

Enforcement

Pipelyn may investigate any suspected violation of this Acceptable Use Policy. We may act on reports from users, automated detection systems, or our own review. When investigating a potential violation, we may review relevant account activity, content, and communications.

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may take any of the following actions, individually or in combination:

  • Remove content that violates this policy, without prior notice.
  • Throttle or restrict access to specific features, including messaging, marketplace listings, or API access.
  • Suspend your account temporarily while we investigate or pending your remediation of the violation.
  • Terminate your account permanently, with or without prior warning, for serious or repeated violations.
  • Report the activity to law enforcement or other authorities when we believe a violation involves illegal conduct, poses a safety risk, or is required by law.

We may take immediate action without prior notice when a violation creates potential legal exposure for Pipelyn, poses a risk to the safety of any person, threatens the security or integrity of the platform, or involves clearly illegal activity. In all other cases, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and give you an opportunity to address the issue before taking enforcement action.

08

Reporting abuse

If you encounter conduct that you believe violates this Acceptable Use Policy, or if you have a security concern, please report it to us immediately. We take every report seriously and will investigate promptly.
